Psychogeriatric Resource Consultant (PRC)

The primary role of the PRC is to enhance the care of individuals with responsive behaviors/personal expressions associated with dementia, mental health, substance use and/or other neurological conditions, over the age of 65 (or with an age-related mental health diagnosis).  

Reporting to the Long Term Care Manager, the PRC is responsible for providing support to those who care for seniors with complex physical, cognitive, mental health and addictions needs that have associated behaviours.  The PRC will seek to enhance the care of this population through education, training, providing clinical consultation, and supporting the development of local agency networks.

 

The successful candidate will be a registered professional in one of the following:  Nursing, Social Work, Rehabilitation or Psychology

  • Must have significant experience in geriatrics, long term or community-based seniors care with at least two years of experience in psychogeriatric services.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to travel to Wilson Memorial/Peninsula Manor, Marathon when required.
  • Bilingual (English/French) an asset.
