Reopening of the Wilson Memorial General Hospital Emergency Department
December 4, 2022 – The Emergency Department at Wilson Memorial General Hospital has reopened as of December 4, 2022 at 7pm, as scheduled.
The North of Superior Healthcare Group has been facing significant shortages in health human resources for the past several years, particularly in nursing. This shortage is being felt throughout the Province and has been compounded by burn-out after 22 months of navigating the COVID-19 pandemic. Having considered the safe and quality care requirements of our communities and having investigated all support options, we have now made the difficult decision to implement our contingency plan and announce this Emergency Department closure.
